This place was great. The setting is beautiful, the owner is friendly and outgoing. He gave us tips on where to park in Cooperstown, and shared his art with us. He moved us to the Commissioner's Suite, which was a great accommodation with two bedrooms, a sitting room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. The only complaint, and why I didn't give 5 stars, is that my son's mattress was way hard, and I sank into my mattress. But we both slept well anyway. I wish we had planned to spend more than one night at this place. If I ever have another chance to go to Cooperstown, I would stay here again.
We had such a relaxing time in the Cooper Suite. Our two labs loved having the big fields to explore. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Why would anyone traveling with dogs stay anywhere else?
We loved staying at the Gateway Inn and Suites! We booked the Commissioners Suite (living room, kitchen, bathroom, and two rooms) which was perfect for us - spacious, comfortable, well cleaned, big bed, and affordable. We booked this inn because we needed a dog-friendly hotel and we're so glad that we chose Gateway. The inn grounds had plenty of space to walk and our dog was free to roam the suite. The owner Eric is very friendly and a quite talented artist. He was very patient with our last minute reservation and tentative plans. The inn is very close to Cooperstown - less than 10 minute drive. I will definitely stay at Gateway Inn & Suites next time I'm in Cooperstown and I highly recommend Gateway to all of my family and friends.
We had a great stay at the Gateway this April. Eric, the host made sure we felt welcome and properly accommodated. The inn was a comfortable distance from the H.O.F. Cozy and quiet. I loved the baseball-themed room names and artwork inside. Eric even let us choose one of his watercolor prints to take home with us. Even though we didn't bring the dog this time, we were told pets are welcome.
I'm a traveling tech and currently taking a 3 month contract at the local Cooperstown hospital. I'm absolutely 100% lucky on finding Eric's beautiful and secluded property. I love the that this place is outside of town on a country road. It isn't too far from town though. I quick 5 minute drive and your there. The beautiful greenery cocoons you into a private setting. Pets are welcome and my dog loves playing out on the property. The rooms are clean and have a cabin/homey feeling. The rooms come with a clean and working mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Beds are comfortable. There is also a outside poom in season. Eric and his daughter have been nothing but nice and accommodating.
